“It is no measure of health to be well adjusted to a profoundly sick society.” — Jiddu Krishnamurti

Or so I like to believe. Anyways, I was feeling too lazy today, after being hit by a car on Monday and almost ran over by a motorbike on Tuesday (today is Wednesday), to write anything from scratch, and thought, ‘let’s see what crazy and/or silly thoughts, spur-of-the-moment rhyming “sentimentalities” and subversive diatribes I have dared to post on my personal Facebook over the course of this year, for the annoyance and confusion of all those who’ve befriended me’. So, here’s a selection of 35 ruminations, in no particular order and devoid of any coherent categorisation, of the copy & paste frenzy that ensued, which I’m turning into a public piece of “content”, just in case the Grim Reaper finally gets me sometime soon, and catches me without having made anything useful out of all of that social media procrastination. ‘Wait, how is this useful to me?’ You may be asking yourself, and you would be smart to do so. Well, I don’t know, do I? That’s something only you have the answer to, smarty-pants, I’m just here to entertain you and, from time to time, remind you of how freakin’ beautiful you are just by being you.

“Artists undress their souls like virgins undress their bodies for the touch that will burn, always feeling as vulnerable as the first time, consumed by the desire to know thy self as deeply as it goes, connect with another and the all, while still scared of losing themselves in a world of hurt.”

“How beautiful you look in the morning, still bathed in the night’s trances, your heart beating, expectant, ‘will it be today when I feel the power within, will it be today when I finally forgive, will it be today when I break free?’ out of this world, and yet, unbeknownst to you, so eager still to drink from its pulse, that first baby cry echoed by your lungs as you breath in the air for another chance, how lovely you look in the morning, when I can see your soul, intact.”

“If we purposely ignored ‘What’, ‘Who’, ‘Where’, ‘When’, ‘Why’ & ‘For how long’ and focused instead on the question type of ‘How’, on every level of existence, we would get to know all the what’s, the who’s, the where’s, the when’s, the why’s and the for how long’s with a clarity bordering in clairvoyance. But, we are surprised by the ‘what’, bothered by the ‘who’, give way too much importance to the ‘where’, isolate the ‘when’, get lost in the ‘why’ and feel trapped by the ‘for how long’.”

“Our bodies, they are galaxies, our minds, the universe. Our consciousness, what is, and when it’s nothingness, that must be peace. So, in the face of infinity, what’s the fear? Fear not, you have a life to live.”

“That love froze for us, it formed the cage of ice around our hearts, it gave us a chill in the hottest of nights, it burned like fire when winters came to pass, it left trails reflecting the falling of leaves at dusk, it shot drops of spice into our bloodstream every time a flower opened the same way your eyes opened to mine. Wherever we go, wherever we are, no matter how much time goes by, this love is still part of us, like it always was in the lives we shared before and will always be in the lives that eternity has promised to us both. We knew at first sight and yet no sight was needed to feel we were one. That love captured us and set us free at the same time.”

***

“ ‘Like the veins under our skin are the dark trails to our heart, where their blood is then pumped to be purified, our soul has an obscure desire to be taken on a ride to places it’s never been before and crash against their shores, surrendering in its break, for that’s only how we can experience the eternal fabric of our existence, how our flesh is set aflame and yet our essence never extinguishes. But we fear… we don’t trust in our immortality. And that’s the ride: To fear but do and feel anyway, that’s our challenge, that’s our curse, that’s our gift, that’s our saving grace, that’s how we give meaning to everything we were, are, will be, again and again and again; the ride never stops, there’s no beginning, no end.’ “

“We all live three lives in our lifetime:
– The life that happens and upon which we act (reaction to event/circumstance/environment)
– The life we think & feel (not always expressed in our reactive acts, i.e.: duality, unawareness)
– And the life we imagine (outside immediate event/circumstance/environment, not always accordant to what we think and feel on a daily basis, i.e.: sudden worries, daydreaming of future possibilities, daydreaming of ‘what if’s’ past & present, creativity)”

“ ‘The weight of a world upon our shoulders,
a boundless love trapped in our ribcage,
our frown clouded by the sorrow of eons,
sunlit waves caressing our mouth corners,
a dream entangled in the precepts of age,
our thoughts shaken to the very nucleons,
the frequencies of the past streaming answers,
a secret in our eyes dancing to the carnage,
our hearts stripped by pretty surgeons,
the present covered in blazing blisters,
a future sculpted by the wisdom of mileage,
we’re flowers grown in the darkest dungeons
clinging to the fast-passing like cleavers,
while our souls pretend to be mortal’ “

“Somewhere, on planet Earth, the one that truly controls my life & yours, has a big smile on his face. He makes millions no matter what, a finger dipped into every pot.
Weapons, energy, land, security, terrorist-like assassins, they´re all fair game as far as he´s concerned. He pisses on your cross, your prophet, all your deities and Israel. He wipes his arse with every flag he comes across. On his phone, he has on speed dial all the players in the political, financial, religious and armed group landscape. He supplies them all. He loves when you and I fight over the internet, ca-ching, ca-ching, there goes my freedom, there goes yours, more money goes to his bank accounts. He has a twelve year old jerking him off as he watches the latest news, from one of his jacuzzis with city views. And he´s laughing now, he reached orgasm when he shouted: ´I´m your true god, you fools. Please, kill, please, die, but not before paying your taxes!

But don´t get depressed about this, are you nuts? We´re not entitled, we must produce, produce, produce, keep the wheels turning; worry not, he has plenty of pills for you to swallow, he also controls all those batches. Life is beautiful, life is great, life is whatever you make of it, so long as we don´t pull on our chains. Repeat after me: I am free (but I can´t say what I want?) I am free (but I can´t live on my own?) I am free (but I don´t have anything to eat?) I am free (but I may end up on the street?) I am free (but my vagina makes me inferior?) I am free (but being hetero makes me superior?) I am free (but my skintone is not cool?) I am free (but my country owes to yours?) I am free (but I have to go to school?) I am free (but if I say I don´t believe I´ll be killed? I am free (but I am not?)’ “

“In my memory, he lives on, and everyday reveals something different during the replay of those words and actions of his that I captured through the various lenses of my own internal struggle. I finally understood his anger, and, in this moment, I can’t help but wonder how many other essential discoveries remain hidden thanks to the warped perspective of insecurities both wrapped and fuelled by doing the right thing according to the eye of those others who will never know how pure love is in the hearts of star-crossed lovers.”

“For all we know, we could all just be the thoughts that other types of ‘beings’ have about the nature and truth of their own perceived universe, given illusory mass by persistent belief.”

“Success isn’t riches, fame, or recognition. Success is never giving up on your dream despite their lack and never compromising your values and your truth while you are at it. Success is finding out how your own kind of talent and know-how can positively touch others and make an uplifting difference in their lives, no matter if that difference is encapsulated in just a moment. Success is being able to recognize the talent and know-how in all others, too, and let them know about it. Success is believing on what you have to offer even if at times nobody else does. Success is finding the nuggets of wisdom hidden in the struggle.

Success is finding in your heart pure joy for other people’s success. Success is knowing that you are on the path that your whole body, mind and soul screams for you to take, no matter how difficult it may be. Success is being of help to those who are at the verge of giving up. Success is knowing you gave it your all. Success is finding joy in the smallest and most ordinary things in life.

Success is seeing light when all around you is darkness. Success is in being able to inspire and comfort others even when you yourself are in need of comfort and inspiration. Success is never killing the child inside. Success is overcoming any trauma the child carries and using the gained insight to help others in freeing themselves from the prisons that their own traumas have forged for them.

Success is waking up in the morning excited about what you can do with that day ahead of you. Success is being able to look back and see not only the mistakes you made or the times you failed but also the little achievements in between. Success is understanding what success really is and not what it looks like.”

“The bridge of Reason seems to connect the Common Sense countries with the Intuition woods. Its exact location remains still unknown, which may explain why no one has been able to offer concrete proof, to date, of ever crossing it. I may dedicate my life to find it, but I suspect the armies of Perspective could plant various insurmountable obstacles in my path.”

“- I’m very small, how could I do all the things you say I can do?
– Smaller is an atom, yet look at all it has produced
– But it will take me a mighty long time, and so much energy…
– Time doesn’t really exist, dear. As for energy… you know what takes up most of human’s energy?
– What?
– The regret of not having done.
– Why?
– Because not doing is to not live and not living is already half way to death and death takes so much energy from you… that it actually kills you.
– I don’t know…though you always persuade me somehow…
– Of course, I’m your Passion.”

***

“- Have you ever been bad and regretted it?
– Never
– You’ve never been bad? That’s a lie…
– No, I’ve never regretted it.”

***

“I only know that I know very little, and from that very little, I bet half of it is a lie and the other half a twisted truth, and from that twisted truth I bet half of it depends on perspective and from that perspective surely there’s little certain but a lot of bias from growing up within a specific environment and set of circumstances. So here I am, exploring ‘the multiverse’, making do with what I do make though always wanting to make more, in awe and amazed by what I find, the colorful and beautiful beings that I’m meeting along the way, the shocking and disturbing I stumble upon from time to time, all in all happy and entertained, more by choice than by consequence.”

***

“There are tons of treasures hidden underneath our fears of ridicule & rejection.”
