Some men say there are not many female comedians out there because women aren’t funny. Turns out those men are sexist ignorant pricks. Yes, I said sexist. The funny, like every other intellectual feature or personality trait, is not a gender gene. Luckily for the world at large, women, and most men, give a toss about preconceived ideas and backwards prejudices.

Carol Burnett, Whoopi Goldberg, Lucille Ball, Kathy Griffin, Ellen DeGeneres, Wanda Sykes, Lisa Lampanelli, Joan Rivers, Margaret Cho, Sarah Silverman, Chelsea Handler, and many others, have paved the way for the new generations, and here’s my pick of 13 from those, together with video clips of their hilarious stand-up comedy, in no particular order, for your discovery.

Sites’ links are underneath every clip, if you wish to check out more info and tours dates. Enjoy!
